  • DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN HO CHI MINH CITY (SAIGON)

    Welcomed to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam! You will meet your private tour guide upon arrival at Tan Son Nhat International Airport. Get transferred to city for hotel check-in. The remainder of the day is yours to adjust yourself from jetlag, or move around to explore the surroundings on your own. Overnight in Saigon.
     
    (Once dearly called Diamond of the Far-east with the luxury level overriding that of Hongkong or Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City is now the most populated city in Vietnam. Modern office skyscrapers, amidst Oriental style pagodas and food stalls along the street, create a dynamic urban area in very special sense.)

    DAY 2: TOUR OF SAIGON

    Start the day with two impressive architectural landmarks: The Notre Dame Cathedral and the Central Post Office which was designed by famous Gustav Eiffel. After that, take a short stroll down Dong Khoi Street to the Opera House. The street was originally named after the French Warship - Catinat that participated in the mid-19th century. Followed by a visit to the Reunification Palace, once a symbol of the South Vietnamese Government. Here, you will learn to know a bit more detail about life and work of some typical presidents till the war was put an end to. After lunch, continue on the tour with the War Remnants Museum. At this museum, you will see many photographs of Vietnam War from both Vietnam and US sources. Transfer to Cho Lon – the Chinatown, visiting Thien Hau Pagoda which is dedicated to the Goddess of the Sea.. End the day with a cyclo ride through narrow streets to observe street life and trading.

    DAY 3: CU CHI TUNNELS & CAO DAI TEMPLE

    Breakfast at your hotel. Meet your tour guide and driver again and heading northwest of the city for Cu Chi tunnels. This incredible underground tunnel network was constructed by Vietnamese fighters during the long struggle for independence. Upon arrival, you will watch a brief introductory documentary and follow the paths to learn about the network’s organization. You’ll have a chance to crawl through a piece of the tunnels to experience if you wish.
    After the tunnels, make your way further to Tay Ninh where the interesting Cao Dai Temple located. Arrive at the temple at noon, get inside to watch a part of the religious service. Your guide will give you an explanation of this interesting religion. After a local lunch, drive back to the city (3 hours approx.) for the second night in Saigon.

    DAY 4: SAIGON - BEN TRE - CAN THO

    Depart by private vehicle to the "rice basket" of Vietnam. Today will be a full day of discovery as you explore the villages, farms, and intricate waterways that form the delta. Start the trip by a drive to Ben Tre, which on the way is green/yellow rice paddy fields stretching towards the horizon. On arrival, you will embark on a motorized boat trip around the scenic BenTre River, viewing various local industries along the way. During the boat ride you will stop to visit the local workshops to see how bricks & sleeping mats are made. You also take a motor cart passing fruit and vegetable fields. In the afternoon, you make your way to Can Tho City which is considered as the capital of the Delta for overnight at a hotel.

    DAY 5: CAN THO - HANOI

    After the breakfast at the hotel. you will get transferred to Ninh Kieu boat wharf where you will take a private cruise on a motorized boat. Meandering in between the shop boats of different sizes in Cai Rang floating market, one of the biggest floating market in Southern Vietnam. You will be surprised to explore “the method of the business” in the floating market areas. It is really impressed. After exploring the floating market, you will visit the place to see how they make rice vermicelli noodle and the orchard garden. Wandering in the village and try your best to cross the bamboo bridge which is built only one bamboo tree. Cruise back Ninh Kieu wharf. Get back to the City where you continue to visit Binh Thuy old house and have lunch at a restaurant before taking a flight to Hanoi.
    Get picked up on arrival and transfer to the hotel for check-in and stay for the night.

    DAY 6: HANOI - SAPA

    Today, we will start a bit early (7:30 AM) because of the long morning drive to Sapa. It takes us about 5 hours driving to Sapa on the HW Noi Bai – Lao Cai. This is the longest highway in Vietnam. The scenic drive from the Red River Delta, through the midland to Lao Cai province will be a good start for your trip. Arrive in Sapa around noon, have lunch at a restaurant in town and check in to the hotel for a short rest and refresh. In the afternoon, you are transferred to a trekking point to trek Muong Hoa Valley. The trek from Y Linh Ho Village to Lao Chai village of the Black H'mong is one of the best scenery in the region. Get picked up and transferred back to the town at the end of the day. Overnight in Sapa.

    DAY 7: SAPA - BAC HA ​(Saturday)

    After breakfast, checking out of your room and transfer to Ma Tra village for a trek mostly on a small concrete path to Ta Phin village of the Red Yao people (~8km). This trek also offers you a great scenery of rice terraced field views. Beside that, you do have chance to learn about the other coloful hill tribe in the region. It is the Red Yao people.
    Lunch at a local restaurant in Ta Phin. In the afternoon, get back on your private vehicle and make the way to Bac Ha town. The drive lasts for almost 3 hours. On the way, have a short stop at the border gate to China in Lao Cai city. Take a view over the border bridge and you may want  to take some photos before carrying on the drive. Arrive at Bac Ha town, check in a hotel and rest for the remainder of the day. Dinner and overnight in Bac Ha.

    DAY 9: HANOI - NINH BINH

    Depart from Hanoi early this morning and drive overland to Ninh Binh province, a beautiful and rustic countryside. Upon arrival, take about 2-hour boat rowing at Tam Coc. This area is famous for its wonderful landscape of karst formations. The scenery along the gentle row is stunning and it is deserved to be the highlight activities of the day. On the row back, get off the sampan at Thanh station for an easy scenic walk to visit Thai Vi temple which is dedicated to the heroic figures of a Vietnamese dynasty. After that, walk back to the center for lunch at a local restaurant.  In the afternoon, you will carry on the sightseeing to the surroundings by bicycles. This includes a visit to Bich Dong Pagoda. Transfer to your hotel for check-in and relax for the remainder of the day. Overnight in Ninh Binh.

    DAY 10: NINH BINH - BAC NINH

    Spend the morning for some good active trek at Hang Mua area. You will start with 500 steps to the summit of Ngoa Long Mt. The hike is rather hard for some on hot days, (Let the guide know if you'd prefer to give it a pass) but it is certainly worth it with the panorama over the karst landscape. After taking some nice phtographs, get back down to continue on the trek on the flat ground through farm land and villages. Lunch is served at a hidden valley lodge. After lunch, trek out to the big road and spend the rest of the afternoon drive back to Hanoi and onward to Bac Ninh for tonight dinner and stay at a local house of a typical Vietnamese family.

    DAY 11: BAC NINH - CAT BA ISLAND

    This morning you may be awoken early by domestic animals like roosters, pigs from the neiborhood. After the home-made breakfast, you will take a walk around the village and to the fields, merge yourself into the local daily life... join the farmers doing some farm-work if you wish. Followed by a transfer to Phu Lang pottery village. ​(Phu Lang is one of the last remaining villages in Northern Vietnam that have been producing ceramics since the 13th century). On arrival at the village, take a walk around the village to visit some workshops and learn about the local techniques. The morning is surely leaves you a lovely discovery. Get back to the host family for lunch. In the afternoon, bid farewell to the family and make your way to Cat Ba Island. Tonight, your accommodation will be at a eco-lodge near Phu Long Mangrove Forest. Dinner and stay overnight.

    DAY 12: CAT BA ISLAND - LAN HA BAY & HALONG BAY

    As ususal, the breakfast is served at the stay. Transfer to a little boat station and take a sampan boat ride on a river which leads you to the green part of the forest. Your local rower will take you to small creeks bordered by lush mangrove bushes. It is really interesting to move gently in between the green. You are also taken to explore a limestone cave where you will admire many beautiful stalactites and stalagmites. After the cave, return to the dock and head to Cai Beo tourist wharf which is located at the other side of the island. By noon, embark on your private junk and start the spectacular cruise to view Lan Ha Bay and Halong Bay. The afternoon cruise includes times of kayaking, swimming and visiting a fish farm. Lunch and dinner are served on boat. Overnight on boat.

    DAY 13: MORE EXPLORE OF THE BAYS

    After the breakfast on the top deck, get ready for more kayaking in the morning around Ong Cam area. The junk is cruising further up Halong Bay before make it turn around to Vung Kiem Lam area. Lunch is served on boat. After lunch and rest, get off the boat and explore a hidden "lake" that has only one acess through a tunnle-like cave. Take more swim off the kayak if you wish.
    The afternoon gentle cruise takes you back to Lan Ha Bay. Anchor is dropped at a scenic place for the night. Dinner and spend the second night on boat.

    DAY 14: CAT BA ISLAND - HANOI

    Start your day with a short transfer to Viet Hai dock where you will embark on a nice bicycling tour. The ride is on a small concrete road leads you to the national park's area, visit a village isolated by ever-green mountains.
    Get back on the boat and meandering in between many beautiful sheer islands of Lan Ha Bay toward to Beo Wharf. After the early lunch on boat, bid farewell to the crews and disbark by 12:00 PM. Take the afternoon drive back to Hanoi for the night.

    DAY 15: HANOI CITY TOUR - FLIGHT TO HUE

    The city tour of the capital city occupies your whole day. In the morning, the sites include Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, his house-on-stilts, One Pillar Pagoda, Temple of Literature - Vietnam’s first university.Lunch is served at a nice restaurant in town. In the afternoon, the tour continues with a visit to one of the following museums, you can pick the one you like (the Ethnology Museum, Army Museum, National Fine Arts Museum, Hanoi Hilton prison or Vietnam Women Museum). End the day tour with a traditional Water Puppet show. Get transferred to the airport for the early evening short flight to Hue, in the center of Vietnam. Overnight at a hotel in Hue.

    DAY 16: TOUR OF HUE

    Start your day with a cyclo ride (local rickshaw) through a part of the city of Hue to observe the excitement of Vietnam’s last capital. Get dropped off and walk to visit the UNESCO listed Imperial Citadel where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945. After visiting the complex of Hue Monuments, you will move on to visit Ming Mang Royal Tomb which is a few minutes to drive from the city. Minh Mang was the second Nguyen Emperor whose interest in architecture brought major new construction to the Imperial City of Hue. Followed by another stop at Thien Mu pagoda, Hue’s best-preserved religious monument, which stands on the riverbank with its impressive seven-storey tower. Thence, take a boat trip along the romantically named Perfume River for the way back to town. The evening is free. Overnight in Hue.

    DAY 17: HUE - HOI AN

    Depart from your hotel in Hue and take the morning drive southward to the riverside town of Hoi An. The drive takes about 5 hours along the coastal line with breathtaking views, especially as the road meandering its way up the Hai Van Pass. As you pass through the city of Danang, a stop will be made at Cham Museum where you will enjoy the collection of Cham sculptures. Many of the sandstone carvings are breathtaking. The Cham ruled central Vietnam from the 2nd - 13th centuries and were an important influence on the local religion and education. On arrival, check into your hotel room and take a rest for the remainder of the afternoon. In the evening set off on a culinary tour in Hoi An to discover the flavors and dishes that make this ancient town unique. Alongside your local guide will tell you many stories about the local foods and history of the town. During the tour you’ll try white rose dumplings, banh can and Cao Lau…

    DAY 18: HOI AN HIGHLIGHTS

    Start the morning with a walking tour in the Old Quarter of Hoi An, the streets are lined with many old buildings of interesting structures. The stops includes Chua Ong Pagoda, Phuc Kien Assembly Hall and Jinshang Temple, 200-year old Tan Ky House, the Japanese Covered Bridge - one of Hoi An’s most iconic structures. At Reaching Out Tea, sit down for a rejuvenating cup of tea before having a tasty lunch at a restaurant. In the afternoon, hop on a cyclo and make your way toward Cam Thanh Village, a small community located in the outskirts of central Hoi An. Visit a small village home for some local interactions. Followed by an interesting bamboo basket boat ride on a nearby river to visit a water-coconut forest and then on board a boat bound for central Hoi An. After taking in the stunning riverside scenery along the Thu Bon River, wrap up your journey with a sunset cocktail at a rooftop bar. Overnight in Hoi An.

    After breakfast and check out, your private tour guide will pick you up for a leisurely bike ride to Tra Que vegetable village, a little charming village on the edge of Hoi An (travel time approximately 3 hours). At Tra Que, you will see the traditional way of cultivating vegetable crops. Afterwards, you will visit the nearby Thanh Ha Pottery villages, the only source of identical bricks, tiles and floor slabs as those in the by-gone era, for restoring the old buildings in the Old Town. Returning to Hoi An and enjoy the afternoon at leisure (You may want to spend the afternoon inside the hotel/resort to enjoy the facilities or stroll around the Old Quarter for some shopping).     You’re having a couple of day at leisure so spend your time as you see fit. Although Nha Trang is a lovely destination for sand and sun, there are number of interesting things to do aside from swimming and sunbathing. Below are some recommended optional activities that you may want to do: Boat ride to Hon Mun Island to snorkel and discover the marine life with tropical fish and coral; and to relax on the stunning beach of Hon Tam Island. Half-a-day tour to visit some surrounding attractive spots such as Long Son Pagoda, Po Nagar Temple or take a cable car ride to Vinpearl Park for entertainments…

    SERVICE TERMS AND CONDITION
    Booking & Payment 
    Bookings must be secured by a deposit of a minimum of 30% of the total booking value, or US$100 for bookings of a value US$500 or below. This deposit is non-refundable unless we cancel your tour. Full payment must be made at least 30 days prior to the first day of your trip. (Please note that increased deposit requirements may be applied for some trips).
    Except as otherwise agreed by your direct travel specialist of Custom Vietnam Travel, the final payment or the balance is due earlier than 30 days prior to your departure.(Failure to pay by the due date may result in unexpected cancellation of the booking.)
    Payment may be made by cash through Western Union, telegraphic/electronic transfer or credit card such as Visa, Master card. (Except for the cash payment, any levied charges for the telegraphic/electronic transfer or any applied surcharges for credit card banking (3.0%) should be covered by the clients.)
    Following full payment, final voucher of services and related documents will be forwarded by e-mail to clients at a maximum of two weeks prior to your home departure.

    Cancellation will be charged as follows: 
    More than 30 days prior to departure: We will retain the deposit
    29 - 14 days prior to departure: 50% of the Tour price is forfeited
    13 - 0 days prior to departure: 100% of the Tour price is forfeited

    Refund of Unused Services 
    No refund will be given for any unused service after the trip has commenced.
     
    Liability 
    Custom Vietnam Travel Co., Ltd. is not responsible for any loss, injury or damage sustained by passengers. Additional expenses incurred due to delays, accidents, natural disaster, political actions and unrest must be borne by the passengers. Passengers are required to have full travel insurance.
    Airline schedules and local conditions may affect accommodation and itineraries. Should this occur, Custom Vietnam Travel Co., Ltd will endeavor to substitute a suitable arrangement of similar value. Participation on any tours implies full agreement to the above conditions by all parties involved.

    Travel insurance is not included in your tour price. It is the passenger's responsibility to verify whether his/her local health insurance carrier provides coverage while traveling. Please contact your insurance carrier for details.
    Custom Vietnam Travel Co., Ltd. strongly advises that you purchase a comprehensive travel insurance policy to cover all aspects of your tour: the loss of deposits through cancellation, loss of baggage and personal items, personal injury and death. A waiver must be signed if insurance is declined.
