The beauty of Dau Go Cave is so impressive that a book Merveille de Monde (Wonders of the World) published by a French author in 1938 (specialized in introducing the world-famous scenic spots) called the Cave as Grotte des merveilles (Cave of Wonders). With regard to the name Dau Go Cave, there are three different explanations. According to the first theory, in a war against Mongol invaders in the 13th century by Tran King, Dau Go Cave was a place where woodpiles were hidden by Vietnam soldiers to build a battlefield to destroy the enemy's ships. Thereby, Dau Go Cave was initially named as Giau Go Cave (Hidden Wood Cave) to commemorate of the merits of Tran King. Later on, the Cave was called as Dau Go Cave (Wooden Stakes)

Thien Cung Cave - Heaven Cave

Thien Cung Cave (Heaven Cave) is located in the north of Dau Go Cave. The cave has numerous stalactites and stalagmites with special and strange shapes. Due to having the narrow cave door and the strongly development of the flora surrounding, the entrance of Thien Cung cave was hidden. Therefore, the cave was discovered quite late. In 1993, in a big storm, fishermen came here to avoid the storm and accidentally explored a large cave. Because stalactites inside had the shapes of dragon, phoenix, and Four Pillars which made those people think about an imperial palace. The cave was named as Thien Cung Cave (Heaven Cave). Indeed, visiting Thien Cung Cave, tourists may have the feeling of entering into a heavenly palace with the magic and magnificent system of stalactites.

The Bãi Cháy Bridge (Vietnamese: Cầu Bãi Cháy) is a cable-stayed bridge on Highway 18, connecting Hồng Gai with Bãi Cháy over the Cửa Lục Straits, separating Cửa Lục Bay with Hạ Long Bay, the territory of Quảng Ninh Province, Vietnam. Bãi Cháy Bridge was the first central-line cable-stayed bridge in Vietnam. At the time of its inauguration, it set a record as the longest central-line span of cable-stayed bridge.
